An external trade facilitating agency for Singaporean investors - International Enterprise (IE) - has been launched in Accra.

Officials of International Enterprise, which is a government promotion agency, subsequently signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with their Ghanaian counterparts after the official opening of its Accra office.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ms. Hannah Tetteh, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, re-echoed government’s commitment to creating the necessary institutional framework for greater investment.

Ms. Tetteh added that the right infrastructure would be put in place to guarantee private sector development to create more opportunities and propel Ghana’s low middle income status to a higher one.

Mr. Lee Yi Shyan, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development, Singapore, said the greater step towards the agreements, was avoidance of double taxation agreements and air services agreements, which would further open up trade links.

The event was attended by over 200 high profile delegates, government officials and business men from Ghana and Singapore. It was organised by Sixth Sense Manifesto, a below-the-line experiential marketing agency.
