Ghana is Sweden's third largest trade partner in Sub-Saharan Africa

Accra, Nov. 9, GNA - Ghana is currently considered Sweden's third largest trade partner in Sub-Saharan Africa, Dr Ewa Bjorling, Swedish Minister of Trade, announced on Tuesday at a press conference in Accra. She noted that trade relations between the two countries had steadily increased over the years, indicating increased interest among Swedish companies to strengthen business relations with Ghana. A Swedish trade delegation headed by Dr. Bjorling is in the country to intensify and broaden the bilateral collaboration between the two countries and to explore other business opportunities.

Dr. Bjorling described Ghana as a country with impressive economic growth and fortunes, rich in history and culture, political stability, respect for rule of law, good governance and policies for private investment and growth.

She said Sweden represented a leading nation with a 'unique position of proven knowledge, technologies, products and services' in sectors that include telecommunication, Information, Communication and Technology (ICT), clean technology and mining and construction equipments.

Dr Bjorling pledged her country's continued commitment to collaborate with Ghana in development. Miss Hannah Tetteh, Minister of Trade and Industry, reiterated the fact that the country was committed towards adding value to exported commodities. 9
