Emmanuel Ossai, Business Manager, West Africa for HMD Global has stated that Ghana is a strategic market for Nokia which is one of the premium brands in the mobile phone industry.
He further explained that Ghana being a strategic market for Nokia means exciting the local consumers and providing the kind of devices that are useful to them. Mr Ossai mentioned this during a media interaction yesterday 13/09/18 at the ongoing Social Media Week at the Accra Mall.
He stated that Ghanaians love tech and are early adopters of technology that is why Nokia has taken a special interest in the country. Emmanuel added that the company was overwhelmed by the kind of responses it received from fans around the world especially in Ghana following the launch of Nokia 6 in China.
According to Emmanuel Ossai, the technology giant sold 70 million phones globally, scaled sales operation across 80 countries with activation from about 170 countries of which Ghana is a major area of focus from a sale perspective.
He maintained that HMD Global, official licensee for Nokia phones is committed to providing devices that attend to the needs of different customers across different price segment.

Emmanuel Ossai is currently the Business Manager, West Africa for HMD Global Oy. He has spent 6 years with Nokia and then Microsoft. Prior to his current role, he was the Business Operations Manager and was responsible for driving business operations and executing retail and market strategies. His experience also spans working in the FMCG industry with Unilever Nig Plc and Marc & Mei Food Industry where he held the position of Regional Sales Manager and Sales Manager respectively. Emmanuel holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and a diploma in Business Strategy from Gordons Institute of Business Science, Pretoria, South Africa.
