Daniel Ofori is Ghana's richest investor
Ghana’s richest investor, Daniel Ofori, has added $7.6 million to his net worth this year, driven by the strong performance of his 7.5% stake in GCB Bank Plc.
According to a report by billionaires.africa, he owns 19,867,154 shares, whose value has risen from $10.4 million in January this year to $18 million, showing how a single company can significantly impact major shareholders.
GCB Bank PLC, holding over 11% of total deposits, ranks as the tenth most valuable company on the Ghana Stock Exchange. Its stock has surged by 73% this year, from GH¢6.37 ($0.52) to GH¢11.02 ($0.91), pushing its market capitalisation above $240 million.

Additionally, retail investors have also benefited, with a $100,000 investment at the start of the year now worth over $173,000.
The gains further cement Ofori’s reputation as a disciplined, long-term investor, with his wealth closely tied to the performance of the banks and businesses in which he holds stakes.
