Ghana to participate in World Travel Market fair

The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, says Ghana’s participation in this year’s World Travel Market (WTM) fair would help encourage global tour operators and travel agents to highlight Ghana on their tour circuits.

The WTM Fair, which is the world’s leading Travel Trade show, is an annual event, which takes places in the British capital of London. It is seen to be the prime meeting place and also an excellent opportunity to meet business partners and to do business.

Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the sector Minister said Ghana’s stand at this year’s event has been expanded to accommodate the higher patronage.

She said the fair would afford Ghana the opportunity to inform and sensitise investors about investment incentives and opportunities available in the tourism, culture and creative arts sector.

A statement issued by the ministry in Accra on Tuesday, and copied to Ghana News Agency, Mrs. Ofosu-Adjare expressed the believe that with the assembling of representatives of tourism destination operators from competitive and generating markets and also exploring training opportunities for the sector’s human resource would go a long way to boost Ghana’s tourism industry.

She said Ghana’s participation in this year’s WTM slated for Monday; November 3, to Thursday; November 6 offers the country a rare opportunity to sell Ghana’s diverse tourism, cultural and creative arts industry as well as the dynamic tourism destinations.

Mrs Ofosu-Adjare said the WTM is a global travel event aiming to increase tourism trade deals, international networking with travel professionals, buyers and providing travel business intelligence.

Ghana’s delegation include officials from Ministry, Ghana Tourism Authority, Forestry Commission, private sector- Sunseekers, Travel bureau, Apstar tours, land tours, Mibes hospitality, Seasons Travel and Tours.
