Fort Lauderdale mobile computing company Tiger Telematics said it has delivered $37,500, or 200 units, of its first two-way radio product into Accra, Ghana.
The newly launched TT100 integrates selective calling PMR with digital cellular GSM. The units, which provide secure, semi-duplex voice transfer, are designed to communicate with the functions contained within the Tiger TT1015 advanced tracking system. This will enable the Ghanaian police force to pinpoint the location of police officers in the field and enable a rapid response to emergency situations.
The initial delivery of 200 Units invoicing for approximately $37,500, will be in fitted in new police vehicles in Accra. Tiger's goal in this initial test installation is to develop this product as the de-facto standard for police forces throughout this region. Mr. Solomon Essah-Essel, a representative of SEMAKOF (ACCRA), the distributor and installer of the product, states that, "The Tiger system provides us with the most comprehensive solution for the security forces; not only can we immediately locate officers on duty but we can also identify, 'man down' situations."
