The Executive Chairman of McDan Companies, Dr. Daniel McKorley, has bemoaned Ghana’s lack of support for successful people. According to McDan, it is the character of Ghanaians to support foreigners instead of their people.
In an interview on Joy FM, he said “We are in a system where the government is a bit off from the business sector. We live in an economy where we hate successful people and support foreigners instead of our own.”
McDan cited Dangote’s achievements and the support he received from his country.
He said a political leader supported the richest man in Africa and this has propelled him to higher heights adding that Ghanaians must not politicise everything.
“Dangote was built by a political party. A President woke up and said Dangote, go in this way. If it was Ghana, it would have been political. It makes things difficult. Right now, the whole world is celebrating.
"He has his own problems but the whole world is celebrating him. One President woke up and created a billionaire and he is been Africa’s richest for how many years, for over decades. This man could have employed so many people,” he added.
