Takoradi, Aug. 26, GNA- Ghanaians have been advised to cultivate the habit of saving in banking institutions.
Mr Philip Buabeng of the National Banking College was addressing a five-day workshop on improved Economic and Financial Reporting at Takoradi on Wednesday.
It was organised by the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and sponsored by the USAID.
Mr Buabeng said it is time consuming when customers go to the banks to transact business.
He said the interest paid on savings was so meagre that it did not attract people to put their monies at the banks and hoped the banks would address the problem.
Mr Buabeng hinted that the Bank of Ghana (BOG) would soon put in measures to make the services of commercial banks attractive. The workshop is being attended by 50 Journalists from the Cental, Western and Eastern Regions.
