into precious stone and sand mining

When the National Democratic Congress (NDC) declared that it

was a political organization committed to contributing to the lives of majority

of the people, they were challenged by the opposition. Now it is real and true

that the NDC is for the people, and want the nation to reap from the natural

resources.

Through the ingenuity and business contacts of the Greater

Accra Regional Chairman of the party, investors have come from Turkey to revive

abundant quarries to adopt new computerized systems of mining precious stone

and sand.

Mr. Kobina Ade Coker is the brain behind the revival of the

quarry at the Shai Hills that has been reconstructed to add to the revenue

generation of the country and which will be officially commissioned on Tuesday July

24, 2012 in Ghana.

Speaking to yours truly at this office, he hinted that Gokay

Group realized the massive potentials of investing in Ghana and decided to pump

$24million into the quarry project.

The Turkey based company led by Terres Sukre have planned to

move to other sectors like cement production, power plantation and creation of

landing sites for small boats.

According to Mr. Ade Coker, Gokay Group, being one of the

rapidly growing industrial, service and investment groups in Turkey, started

its journey in 1998 when Gokay Mining was founded. In addition to mining

operation that is the core business of the company, Gokay Group also operate in

The facility located in Adapazari does not produce Iron

Sulphate Heptahydrate as a byproduct; instead, it produces it completely using raw

materials. Therefore, the product is certified under various national and

international certification schemes and the purity level of iron sulphate is

warranted as 99.5 % at minimum. Being one of the rare producer companies in

Turkey and rest of the world that can offer such outstanding quality product, their

product is preferred by domestic and international cement factories for higher

quality and for Chrome VI reduction which is a requirement for exporting to

European Union member countries. This product is also used in pharmaceutical,

cosmetics and water treatment sectors in domestic and international markets

Karamursel (Izmit, Turkey) and the waste generated is re-used by cement

factories as an industrial raw material (Puzzalone). Again, this mine continues

its services for 6 years on time and complete with thanks to its comprehensive

vehicle fleet, construction machines and two ships used for marine

transportation.
