Golden Pride Savings and Loans Limited has been honoured for being committed to youth development and leadership training programmes at a ceremony at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region.

The company received a citation presented by the Placenta Leadership Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) championing empowerment of the youth in natural-resourced communities.

“We salute you for your uncommon feat in inspiring the youth of Obuasi to aspire for excellence in their lives.

Golden Pride has been at the forefront of helping to organize programmes intended to motivate the youth to strive to take up leadership positions and this has been beneficial to the community”, Mr. Prince Ampofo, Executive-Director of the NGO, noted.

He underscored the need for corporate institutions to come to the aid of the youth in mining communities by investing in their education and career development.

Mr. Ampofo said this was necessary to tap the potentials inherent in the youth in order for them to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s socio-economic development.

Mr. Peter Frazier Owusu-Kusi, Senior Manager in-charge of Credit and Operations of the company, who received the award, said Golden Pride was motivated by the award, promising that his company would not shirk its corporate social responsibilities.

Golden Pride, he said, valued customer care and that it would continue to evolve products that meet the financial needs of its customers.

Mr. Collins Preko-Nyarko, Human Resource Manager of the company, disclosed that plans were far advanced for the financial institution to open a branch in the Kumasi Metropolis to help expand its operations for the benefit of the public.
