Golden Star Resources to support to Wassa East District farmers day

The new Ghanaian Managing Director of Golden Star Resources, Mr Shadrack Adjetey Sowah has committed to double his Companies Social Responsibility Budget contribution to Wassa East Farmers Day celebration from 2019 edition.

Handing over the generous donation of prize items which included chemical sprayers, Bicycles, Sewing machines, Cutlasses and Farm Boots to the Honourable District Chief Executive Officer, Wilson Arthur for last years celebration at Sekyere Krobo, the MD said he was happy with the improvement in the quality of the event.

In response, Mr Wilson Arthur expressed gratitude and appreciation to Golden Star Resources Management for their contribution to the local economy of Wassa East District and assured him of his administration's reciprocal support and cooperation.

Mr Arthur recognized the mining companies investment in Oil Palm plantation under alternative livelihood Empowerment GSOP Project at Ateiku.

He announced that the 2019 edition of Wassa East District Farmers Day celebration would be hosted by Ateiku Area Council.

The enhanced package would reflect in the quality and quantity of prizes for the 2019 edition.
