As part of efforts to indigenize its operations, a wholly owned Ghanaian Airline company, Goldstar Air has held a-day orientation exercise for its newly recruited cabin crew members in Accra after two days of recruitment exercise.
The new recruits made up of both males and females who are scheduled to be the face of the airline had lectures and practicals in various areas in the aviation industry.
The areas that were touched on includes international rules and roles of a flight attendant, flight safety, health on board the aircraft, security, beauty therapy, customer relation, marketing, swimming, cultural and tourism among others.
The company’s pride and joy, according to management will empower and equip Ghanaians to pursue economic ventures in both aviation and the tourism sector.
In a press statement copied to GhanaWeb, the management of the company explained that Goldstar Air will represent the airline of choice for all Ghanaians and therefore urged all to treat the company as their own, since it will carry the wings of Ghana.
The Chief Executive of the company, Mr Eric Bannerman in the statement said that“Goldstar Air will receive onto its fold some key performers, players, and various stakeholders in the tourism and aviation industries and will promote and protect the interest of Ghanaians by offering all passengers checked in bags and that the airline will deliver promptly on its promise of getting Ghanaians and other nationals to earmarked destinations on time“.
Mr Bannerman is assure Ghanaians the company’s commitment is to work activelyin promoting national network and unity of purpose, promising that as a local host and flying the spirit of Ghana it would open up possibilities to all Ghanaians.
Some aviation experts who graced the orientation were Mr Eric Bannerman the Chief Executive Officer of the airline, Ms Ziyanda Ndamase a cabin crew trainer from the United States, Mr Barry Danquah the Director of Human Resource of the airline, Mr George Quaye a board member, Mr Yakubu Habibu a board member, Ms Jacqueline Akweley Mantey-Amoo of Ghana’s most beautiful pageant show and ambassador of the airline.
Others were Mr Theopilus Edzie the president of Ghana Swimming Federation and Communication Director of the airline, Mr George Lartey the host of Ghana Television sports-beat and the airline representative in Europe, Mr Stanis Buckle the Head of Security of the airline, Mr Edmund Sowatey a Security expert and Marshall of the airline, Ms Maureen Djan Baffour the marketing manager of the airline, Mr Charles Nettey the Airport manager and Ms Cecelia Arthur a public health officer of the Ministry of Health.
