Goldstar Airlines postpone flights to various destinations

Goldstar Airlines, a new entrant to Ghana’s aviation industry has announced unfortunate postponement of its maiden flight to various destinations to the month of July 2014.

According to the Chief Executive Mr. Eric Bannerman, the slight change of the company’s flight arrangement to next month was due to an unforeseen delay by some authority on some paperwork beyond management control.

A statement issued in Accra and copied to GhanaWeb on Wednesday said “the management of Goldstar airlines know that the flight is just part of your holiday, we will therefore introduce three new baggage allowance which is a great deal from Goldstar airlines making it a total of sixty nine (69) kilograms per passenger excluding hand luggage to all our destinations.

The statement however disclosed that, there will be a press conference in London, Maryland, Guangzhou and Accra to give the exact date of the maiden flight.

“We also wish to inform our numerous customers that arrangements have been finalized to make them feel at home on board with Ghanaian and Continental dishes in addition to the privilege hearing of Ghanaian languages such as Ga, Hausa, Akan and Ewe," the statement quoted.

Destinations

According to the CEO, Goldstar Airlines with origins from the United States of America will fly Accra-London-Accra two times weekly and Accra-Baltimore-Accra two times weekly. The airline would also fly Accra-Guangzhou-Accra once a week.

Mr Bannerman also stressed that the Airline will fly 11:00am Saturdays and Tuesdays from Accra to London and from London to Accra will be Sundays and Wednesdays at 2:00pm.

From Accra to Baltimore will be 11:00am Saturdays and Tuesdays and 2:00pm Sundays and Wednesdays from London.

Also from Accra to Baltimore is going to be Sundays and Wednesdays and Baltimore to Accra will be Fridays and Mondays.

Goldstar Aircraft

Goldstar Airlines will fly two main luxurious aircraft; the MD-11and 747. “The MD-11 has a capacity of carrying 360 passengers whereas the 747 takes 530 passengers, so depending on the number of passengers we have will determine the type of aircraft to use." Mr Bannerman said.
