The Housing Project, according to government, is to help eradicate Ghana’s current housing deficit which has been estimated to about 2.5 million housing units and supply requirement of about 200,000 units per annum.
The Akufo-Addo-led administration in 2019 partnered with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and Sustainable Housing Solutions (SHS) Limited to provide a decent affordable house that will contain all the needed amenities Ghanaians will look out for in owning a home, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made known.
He added that the construction of 100,000 houses nationwide by these development partners will transform the lives of Ghanaians facing housing deficits, thereby labelling the project as a ‘game-changer.
Dr Bawumia made these statements during Amasaman Housing project launch in Accra last year.
