President Akufo-Addo has reiterated his government's commitment to ensuring the creation of jobs to absorb the many unemployed people in the country.
To this end, the President has vouched to implement policies and initiatives that will formalise our economy and make it more robust to accommodate the pressures it may face.
He was certain that the nature of the economy has made it difficult for governments to "deepen and widen the tax base, broaden the financial inclusiveness and delivery of those most in need of goods and services"
As a result, he noted, the informalised nature of our economy has been a major impediment to our development as a nation.
To boldly address the hindrance and provide a conducive economic atmosphere for job creation, Akufo-Addo mentioned the "national identification scheme, the national digital addressing system and the interoperable electronic platform for the payment of goods and services for the payment of goods and services" as key interventions his government is working assiduously to make a reality.
