The government is committed to the policy of ensuring the establishment of a healthy public-private sector partnership to promote businesses in the commercial and service sectors in line with its golden age of business vision.
Mr. Joseph Aidoo, Western Regional Minister said this at a day's workshop on International Standard Organization (ISO) 9,000 Quality Management System(QMS) Standard Certification Organization by the Standard Board for 50 participants of the private sector from the Western and Central Regions in Takoradi on Thursday.
The workshop was under the auspices of the Export Development Investment Fund (EDIF). He said the government recognizes small businesses as important partners in the national reconstruction effort.
Mr.Aidoo said it has been government primary objective to develop the private sector to play important role of improving the economic growth and enhance competitiveness in the country. He asked the private sector operators to make their products attractive and of high quality standard to be competitive in the global market and help their businesses to grow.
Mr. Aidoo said quality is increasingly the key to business success and a gateway to international market as well as markets globalization. He said today, more customers and large-scale buyers demand from product manufacturers evidence that goods and services supplied meet the requirement of the right standard.
The evidence is provided through the ISO 9,000 QMS specification, he said, adding that as a result many companies Worldwide are getting certified to ISO 9,000 QMS Standards in order to be competitive.
