Govt sets ultimatum for Glo roll out

The govt ha set up September 15 for Globacom to launch mobile services in the country or face sanctions. Globacom was awarded a telecom license in 2008 including frequencies in the 9/18 MHz and 2.1GHZ bands. The operator has since then postponed its mobile launch citing various reasons, including being victim of sabotage. Globacom also has landing rights in Ghana for its submarine cable Glo-1, which went live in Ghana in April 2011.
