The Chamber of Licensed Gold Buyers (CLGB) has extended its condolences to President John Dramani Mahama and his government over the helicopter crash in Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region, which led to the deaths of eight people, including two cabinet members.

The chamber also commiserated with the Ghana Armed Forces, which lost three of its officers in the crash, and the relatives of all eight victims.

In a statement sighted by GhanaWeb Business, the licensed gold buyers prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the victims, whose deaths have set the country in grief.

“The Chamber extends its heartfelt condolences to the President, John Dramani Mahama, the government, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the families and friends of the eight nationals. We stand in solidarity with the nation in this moment of national grief and pray for the peaceful repose of the departed souls.

“These individuals were committed public servants, politicians, and gallant officers whose efforts in regional security and environmental sustainability will be missed. The purpose for which these individuals embarked on the journey to meet their untimely deaths is of great interest to the Chamber and the mining industry; hence this is indeed a great loss to the Chamber. Our prayers are with the entire nation during this difficult time,” part of the statement reads.
