Ghana’s tourism sector continues to show impressive momentum, welcoming 112,000 passenger arrivals in August 2025.
The figure marks one of the highest monthly totals this year and underscores the country’s growing reputation as a destination for both business and leisure.
Despite global economic headwinds, demand for travel to Ghana remains strong.
Data from the High-Frequency Economic Indicators reveals that monthly arrivals have consistently topped 100,000 throughout the year. A clear sign that Ghana is cementing its place as a regional hub for conferences, tourism, and investment.
August’s performance is particularly striking, given the rising competition from neighbouring countries, many of which are ramping up efforts to attract international visitors.
Ghana’s edge lies in improved flight connectivity, strategic promotional campaigns, and targeted support for the broader tourism value chain.

With the final quarter of the year approaching, a traditional peak for global travel arrival numbers are expected to climb even higher.
But experts caution that sustaining this growth will require continued investment in infrastructure, smoother visa processes, and robust security measures to attract high-value travellers.
The ripple effect of rising passenger inflows is already being felt across sectors like hospitality, retail, and transport, key drivers of job creation and economic diversification.
