Following on from the recently successful London Housing Exhibition, the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Yaw Barima, along with the President of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA) Mr. B.D.K. Adu is to lead a delegation of around thirty of the country's leading estate developers to the New York Ghana Housing Exhibition to be held in New York USA on the 9th and 10th of November 2002.

Also attending the exhibition will be Mr. Alan Kyeremanteng, Ghana's ambassador to the US.

The exhibition is being organised by GREDA in conjunction with Ghana Homes Inc a Ghanaian owned real estate agency based in New York specialising in the sale of land and houses in Ghana.

The exhibition is aimed at enticing the estimated 15,000 Ghanaians living and working in New York and its environs to purchase houses or own homes back at home in Ghana. This in turn will aid Ghana's economy with much needed foreign exchange. It also provides those who have left the shores of the mother country to maintain some links with home.

It is said that many Ghanaians who emigrate to the USA yearn to own a house in Ghana. Ghanaians in the USA contribute over three hundred million US dollars to the Ghanaian economy every year by way of remittances. Much of this money finds its way into the construction industry in Ghana.

The exhibition also falls in line with the Government's policy of encouraging those Ghanaians outside the country to assist the country in its development aims in whatever shape or form.

The exhibition is to be held at the Ghana United Nations Mission in New York.

The exhibitors attending will include companies such as: ACP Estates, Akuaba Estates, Ayensu River Estates, Alfresco Housing, Buena Vista Homes, Coastal Estates, Damax Construction, Devtraco Ltd., Emefs Construction, Emmacarlton Estates, Desbuild, Fortune 2000, Juskubi Enterprise, Kenprist Ventures, Manet Housing, Medium Dwelling, Regimanuel Gray, Salem Estates, State Housing Co, T&T Properties, Taysec Construction, Tekoa Estates, Tempo Estates, Top Kings Enterprise, Tracoaf Estates, Trassaco Valley Estates, WDP, Tema Development Company, Landline Properties, Nubinco, Kingffaz Co, Global Estates, Media Galore, Ankamah, Gunn & Co.
