HFC Bank on Thursday inaugurated a six-classroom block for the Kotobabi Number Two Primary School at Baatsona, as part of activities to mark the bank’s 20th Anniversary celebration.
Mr Asare Akuffo, Managing Director of HFCB said, the educational facility was the bank’s contribution to improve access to education in the community.
“We urge Accra Metropolitan Assembly to ensure regular maintenance of the building while members of the community are encouraged to take advantage of this facility to enroll their children in the school to improve the standard of education in this area,” he said.
Mr Akuffo reiterated the bank’s commitment towards maintaining its leadership in the home loan business and to significantly expand HFC’s share of the small and medium scale enterprises and corporate banking business.
He said HFC had established itself on the banking landscape on foundations of honesty, professionalism and innovativeness to become the truly universal banking institution in the country.
Mr Akuffo expressed gratitude to Mrs Irene Torshie Addo, Member of Parliament for Tema West, for her efforts in ensuring that the “bottlenecks” that could stall the project were removed.
Mrs Addo pledged to supply the computer laboratory of the newly constructed classroom block with computers.
The block has a staff common room, a headteacher’s office and a toilet facility.**
