Hard working staff of the Sector were recognised and rewarded for their sterling performance
The revenue performance of the Ho Sector Collection of Customs Division of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has exceeded its targets for the 2025-year period.
The Sector’s actual revenue collection at the end of December 2025, stood at GHS82.47 million from the target of GHC 68.67 million, resulting in a positive deviation of GHC13.8 million, representing a 16.73 per cent increase over the given target under review.
Theodore Kafui Ahiable, the Volta Regional Sector Commander, disclosed these at the end-of-year get-together and awards night to celebrate their collective feat, said the exceeding of the target was an authentication of hard work, dedication, resilience and professionalism of duty-bearers, despite the stark challenges officers face, plying their Constitutional mandate.
“End-of-year programmes is about reflection, appreciation and recognition,” Ahiable said.
He announced that its target for the first quarter of 2026 had almost being achieved, strong evidence of a promising year.
“Your discipline, vigilance, resilience and unwavering devotion to duty have been the backbone of this success, which demanded commendation,” the Commander said.
He acknowledged the continued support of sister security services, whose shared invaluable and strong partnerships has encapsulated them to the revenue performance.
Ahiable praised management, officers and men, contract staff and other stakeholders for their cooperation and compliance, necessitating smooth operations.
Aaron Kanor, the Commissioner of GRA, Customs Division, in an address read for him by Eric Boakye, the Commandant of GRA Academy and Training School, Kpetoe, commended duty-bearers in the Ho Sector for their hardwork and contribution to nation building.
He indicated all 18 collection sectors returned a positive variant with the Ho Sector occupying the fourth spot on the revenue table, countrywide.
He said management is working assiduously to resolve some of the teething challenges confronting the service and appealed to officers and men to redouble their efforts in mobilizing the needed revenue for national development purposes to aid the government’s reset agenda.
Kanor cautioned against bad press and directed those internal remedies for resolving issues and disputes to be explored to the letter and always be one another’s keeper.
Hard working staff of the Sector were recognised and rewarded for their sterling performance during the period under review.
James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, said revenue is the lifeblood of any nation and tax collection, though an arduous task and tempting, trusted the officers, men and women lived up to integrity and the expectation of all.
“May you continue to serve with excellence and fairness that defines the GRA,” Gunu urged.
He appealed to Ghanaians to continue to pay their taxes promptly, saying, the government was uninterested in misusing taxes, when it is eager to sink development projects across the country to make life easier to all.
