Hollard Ghana commends NIC for facilitating growth

Patience Akyianu – Group Chief Executive Officer of Hollard Insurance Ghana has reiterated the fact that the National Insurance Commission (NIC) has done well for the steps being taken to facilitate the growth and development of the insurance sector over the years.

To her, the NIC has introduced new types of compulsory insurance’s and the fierce enforcement of the existing ones like motor and insurances for commercial buildings has gone a long way to boost the performance of Ghana’s insurance sector.

However, “we are excited about the draft bill that has compulsory insurance like Group life insurance, workmen’s compensation, Public liability insurance, Marine (Cargo & Hull) and Professional Indemnity and we look forward to the bill finally being passed by the close of this year.”

Speaking at the launch of the companies Hollard Life Ghana and Hollard Insurance Ghana Tema branch last week, she pointed out that the company has been in Tema for the past 20 years, previously as Metropolitan Insurance and more recently since 2015 has Hollard Insurance.

Indeed, Hollard Life Assurance, the new kid on the block, she intimated started doing business last year and has since opened two branches, one in Airport, Accra and another in Kumasi.

It is part of our strategy to deepen our footprint in Ghana and to bring our superior product for both the general and life insurance businesses under one roof for the convenient of its cherished customers.

“We are opening a first insurance shopping arcade by relocating the Tema branch of Hollard Insurance and setting up a new branch for Hollard Life at this location”, Akyianu stressed.

Akyianu pointed out that Hollard is a strong insurance brand which has over the last 38 years being enabling many people across the continent of Africa and beyond create and secure a better future.
