The Attorney General says she is unable to assist a member of the opposition NDC legal team, Victor Kojogah Adawudu with information on the controversial US$2.25 bond as requested.

The 2.25 billion dollars domestic bond was issued by the Finance Minister in April 2017 but has since been on the front burner constantly being fueled by NDC functionaries led by the Minority in Parliament.

They suspect some fishy deal in the sale of the bond, petitioning both local and international bodies to investigate the sale.

About a fortnight ago, Mr. Adawuda also wrote to the Attorney General Ms Gloria Akuffo demanding some authentic details about the bond claiming that information provided by the Finance Minister on it was scanty.

“The information that we are getting cannot just be said to be the authentic information that is why I am asking for the authentic information from the government,” he told the media after writing to the Attorney General. But the Attorney General’s response is clear that the lawyer will have to look elsewhere for the needed information.

“I acknowledge receipt of your letter bearing reference number LL/17/26 and dated 4th May , 2017 on the above subject matter.

Please be informed that the information being sought per your letter is not available to me and I am therefore unable to respond to the questions posed therein,” the AG said in her reply today.
