Mr Solomon Kotei, General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU) has advised workers to tread cautiously before embarking on industrial action.
He said the National Labour Commission is suppose to arbitrate industrial disputes within seven days and explained that it is only when workers exhaust all grievance procedures before strikes become legal.
Mr Kotei gave the advise in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Accra said workers could go on strike if their employers violate memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed with them.
He said as soon as MOU is signed it becomes an oath binding all parties which must be respected and issues implemented at agreed dates.
