The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) of the University of Ghana Legon, will on Tuesday October 1, 2019 launch the Ghana Social Development Outlook 2018 (GSDO 2018).

The launch which will be done at the ISSER conference faculty at Legon will be chaired by Professor Samuel Agyei-Mensah, Provost, College of Humanities, University of Ghana.

According to ISSER, this will be the fourth in the series of publications by the institute. The GSDO publications occupies a unique place in Ghana’s development discourse.

The GSDO 2018 follows the practice of previous GSDO publications (ISSER, 2013, 2015, 2017) to deliver systematically biennial valuation of social development in Ghana.

It provides a reliable record of the state of social development in Ghana through critical analysis of social policies and policy outcomes in three broad areas: quality of life, material conditions, and sustainability.

GSDO 2018, in particular, covers emergent debates in Ghana’s socio-economic development in the last two years with the aim of highlighting policy changes, while apprising readers of progress and challenges in implementation. Our ultimate aim is to foster democratic debate and discussion leading towards sustainable and creative policy solutions.
