The Director of Operations for Pressure Group, Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) is calling on Ghanaians to ignore the recent accusations levelled against Alfred Obeng, MD of Bulk Oil Storage Limited (BOST) by The Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers, Ghana (COPEC) Duncan Amoah.

Speaking on Kasapa FM’s Political Show hosted by Fiifi Banson, Mr. Davis Opoku Ansah accused COPEC of engaging in broad daylight blackmail to gain undeserved favors from BOST. He alleged that, some two weeks ago, Duncan Amoah met with the MD of BOST at a Hotel in Accra, to convince him to permit his business friend to transport products. He challenged Duncan Amoah to deny the allegations.

The AFAG Operations Director believes Mr. Obeng’s failure to grant the permit resulted in the allegations levelled against him.

Touching on the allegations raised by COPEC, OPK said that, “it is industry practice for institutions dealing in Crude, to discount distress products. The product was sold in September 2017, and I wonder why the COPEC man will wait until his request is turned down before going to town if he indeed felt there was some wrongdoing. Certainly, this is a man acting in bad faith.”

He dared Duncan Amoah to bring evidence of the 1.8 Million Barrels because “The crude sold to BB Energy was 942,000 Barrels and not what he alleges”. “He is engaged in moves to destabilise the MD and his good works at BOST.”

“I ask all Ghanaians to ignore the rantings of Duncan Amoah. Nobody has time for people who peddle lies. Ghana has seen tremendous progress, and no amount of negatives will wash away the goodwill President Akufo Addo, and his appointees enjoy in Ghana.”
