The return of torrential rains on Wednesday June 3, which culminated into Accra's most devastating floods in recent years, will in no doubt have severe consequences on businesses.

This photo, shows a number of new cars belonging to Toyota Ghana at one of its showrooms completely submerged in flood water.

The Graphic Road area where the showroom is located, was one of the most affected areas in the Wednesday night through to Thursday dawn marauding floods.

Various office spaces and companies were also affected with property running into millions of cedis being lost to the floods.

Businesses would be counting their loses in the subsequent days particularly as the Ghana Meteorological agency is predicting more heavy rains in the days ahead.

Another major business loss was the inferno that razed down the Goil Fuel Station at Circle opposite the Ghana Commercial Bank tower.

Many men and women, majority of who were taking refuge at the fuel station during the torrential floods are feared dead.

Productivity is most likely to be affected later on Thursday as several workers were forced to stay in their offices or sleep elsewhere because they could not access the roads to their various homes.
