As part of numerous efforts to build a more resilient and reliable financial sector anchored by insurance industries, Integrity Magazine will host a high-powered meeting targeted at clearing myths about the insurance sector.
The Business Breakfast Meeting themed ‘Maintaining the Fiduciary Relationship Between the Insured Public and their Insurers’ scheduled to take place on Friday, August 9, 2019, will gather key players in the insurance sector and focus on sustainable relationships between insurers and clients.
Addressing the media at a press briefing on Thursday, July 18, 2019, Editor-In-Chief of Integrity Magazine, Rev. Kennedy Okosun, noted that even though his outfit has no insurance background, they seek to create an opportunity for the citizenry to interact with the many insurance companies.
“…We believe that insurers owe a fiduciary duty to the public…they have the duty of trust to always act in the best interest of their clients.”
He added that “there is a sense of suspicion and mistrust of insurers by the public and therefore very few people resort to insurance as a safety...” thus the need for a dialogue of such sort.
In relation to developments in the Insurance sector over the years, Rev Okosun further emphasized that the sector if properly resourced will overtake the banking sector which has over the past few years been bridled with crisis.
As a means of ensuring sustainability, he said this will not be a one-off interaction as they look forward to organizing more of such programs, to enhance the understanding of the general public on what insurance companies are about and their various products.
The Business Breakfast Meeting will be held at the Best Western Premier hotel in Accra.
