Internet Solutions launches $15m expansion project

A leading pan- African telecommunication service provider, Internet solutions, has launched a "metro- fibre Ethernet network infrastructure expansion project" in Accra.

The 15 million dollar project seeks to meet the growing demand for data as well as provide faster and reliable internet solutions to clients.

Internet solutions, a division of dimension data and subsidiary of NTT a global telecommunications innovator has been providing innovative information communication technology solutions for more than twenty years.

Africa Regional Chairperson of the company, Yvette Adouvo Atekpe, said the company is at the fore front of providing tailored data solutions to the increasingly complex demands of clients.

As the demand for bandwidth continues to grow, Internet Solution's state of the art fibre optic network, is poised to break the communication barriers in the country with the provision of faster and reliable ICT solutions to clients.

"Though there have been significant investment in Ghana's economy with regards to telecommunication, access to ICT resources have been challenged due to limited last mile infrastructure. Our fibre infrastructure therefore becomes an enabler to other solutions such as connectivity, cloud and communication".

Minister of Communications Dr. Emmanuel Omane-Boamah, said with the launch of the project, Ghana will continue to lead innovative ICT solutions in the sub- region.

Funder of Tech - Centrum, Johnnie Coleman, was hopeful the project would usher in the next phase of broad band infrastructure revolution in Africa. Over the next three years, Internet Solutions would expand its network infrastructure across the country.

The first phase of deployment would be in Accra with Kumasi, Takoradi and Cape Coast benefiting from future phases.
