SOCIAL Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has held an employers’ workshop on online contribution report (CR) submission and payment through the banks.

It is to train more employers in the social security payment process.

The workshop was also to ensure employer satisfaction to transacting business with SSNIT.

A release issued in Accra recently said: “the workshop is an indication that the employer is not and will never be left behind in the growth of the Trust, hence the introduction of the SSNIT Employer Lobby on the SSNIT web portal.”

“The SSNIT Employer Lobby is an e-service channel which facilitates the payment of workers’ social security contributions through the banks that that have partnered with SSNIT,” it said.

It said the workshop was an extensive training programme for the employers nationwide to enable use the new technology to facilitate and make easy the services required by employers.

The services including managing contributions by manually keying in their contribution data, attaching excel format of CR, self-generating payment advice for contribution payment, updating employer information, viewing employers’ ledger information, checking establishment penalty status, managing employer portal users and making enquiries.

“For the employer or employer representative to have access to the employer lobby on the SSNIT web portal, he or she must first visit any SSNIT branch to be furnished with a service request form and then other steps follow,” it said.

The release said after a successful validation online, employers could also pay the contributions at Societe General, Standard Chartered Bank, Ecobank, Zenith, UT Bank, ADB, Access Bank, Fidelity Bank, UniBank, GCB Bank, UMB, HFC Bank, First Atlantic Bank and Cal Bank.

It said the SSNIT portal acted as a technological union for the trust, its members and the public as a whole.

“In the same vein, the employers’ lobby has brought about a great deal of relief to all establishment and business owners countrywide. This paradigm shift has no doubt put smiles on the faces of employers. Employees can now transact business with SSNIT from the comfort of their offices.
