Accra, May 7, GNA - The Italian government is to launch a 20 million-dollar support for the Ghanaian small and medium scale industrial sector to boost employment. Speaking at the end of a two-day film show dubbed "EU Cultural Week" in Accra on Thursday, the Italian Ambassador in Ghana, Mr Fabriezlo De Agostini, said the support among other things was to encourage local initiative and reduce unemployment. The cultural week was to give value to EU cultures and to portray that people with diverse cultural backgrounds could work in harmony. He said the support formed part of the Italian government's contribution to eradicating poverty to enable Ghana to attain the Millennium Development Goals. He said bilateral cooperation between the two countries remained cordial adding that Italy was considering launching other initiatives to help Ghana's developmental drive.
