Jumia Ghana mobile week celebration launched

he Executive Director of Ecobank Ghana, Mr. George Mensah-Asante has underscored the need for all telecommunication companies in the country to collaborate with banks and financial Institutions in developing innovative technology-based products and services to leverage marketing of goods and services so as to make Ghana’s dream of cashless society a reality.

He made the observation at launch of the second edition of Jumia mobile week celebration dubbed Jumia “mobile week reloaded” held in Accra on Friday.

The one week celebration which starts off from 30th of June till June 5th is a proud initiative of Jumia Ghana with sponsorship from Ecobank and Tigo which promises to offer customers major discounts on purchase of variety of mobile phones of their choice through a wonderful online shopping experience offered by Jumia Ghana, the biggest online shopping mall in the country.

According to Prince Kwakye Marketing Manager for Jumia Ghana, the mobile week celebration seeks to reward customers with major discounts on known brands such as Infinix, itel, Samsung, Innjoe and Huawei. He further explained: “Jumia Ghana will allocate each day a specific brand through which customers can purchase other brands at the discounted prices”

Speaking at the launch, Country Manager of Jumia Ghana, Jean Philippe Boul said “We are giving customers up to 35% discounts on all mobile money devices. This year’s mobile week reloaded is definitely going to break the internet, even bigger than Jumia black Friday!.” “Now is the time to buy that sleek mobile phone you have been craving for “he added.

He also lauded Ecobank Ghana and Tigo for their unflinching support towards the attainments of Jumia’s goals aimed at not only providing customers the luxury of shopping from any location, but delivers these items right to customers' doorsteps.

Mr. George Mensah-Asante who also doubles as the Head of Consumer Banking of Ecobank Ghana said his outfit’s partnership with Jumia Ghana to for the launch of the mobile week is just a “testament of our resolve to continually leverage technology and relevant strategic partnerships for introducing new products into the Ghanaian market”.

He also observed his outfit through excellent partnership with all major Telco’s in the country has helped promote their respective mobile money products and services all geared towards offering Ghanaians the comfort in their financial transactions leading to the realization of a cashless society.
