Accra, Nov. 26, GNA - Royal Dutch Airline (KLM) has marked its 47th anniversary in Ghana with the launch of a new product for its business community.

"KLM Club Africa" enables the customer to attain valuable contacts in Africa quickly and easily and provides new ideas and business proposals, Mr Cees Ursem, KLM General Manager for Western Africa told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra on Monday. He explained that the club enables regular KLM travellers in and outside Africa to interact, share useful commercial ideas with other members in an online platform setting.

"This allows you to create your own business network and share valuable contact information on Africa and gives users immediate access to a range of useful business services as well as interesting leisure opportunities," Mr Ursem said.

He said to preserve exclusivity, membership interaction would allow development of the online platform to grow into a sophisticated tool to aid the conduct of business in and with Africa. Mr Ursem said KLM, which started its operations with two flights per week to Accra, now had a daily flight from Accra through Amsterdam to other destinations.

"We fly daily to Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Hartford, Los Angeles, Memphis, Minneapolis, New Jersey, San Francisco, Seatle, Washington, and Montreal.

With the exception of Sundays, "We fly six days to Atlanta, Houston, New York, Toronto and Vancouver". Mr Ursem attributed the improvement of its operations in Ghana to the progressive economic development, stable political governance and general interest leading to increased flight schedules.
