Chief Executive of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Osei Assibey Antwi, has ruled out claims his outfit is using perceived supporters of opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to decongest the city at the detriment of the good works by the government.
"This is never true. ...Hon. Osei Antwi never used NDC taskforce to decongest the city", spokesperson for the Mayor, Frederic Addia dismissed those allegations on Kumasi-based Nyhira FM's morning show monitored by reporter Kwabena Danso-Dapaah.
"If anyone has a prove let the person come forward and Mayor is ever ready to listen to that person", the spokesperson insisted on the show hosted by Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin at the back of strong allegation from a party communicator, Alex Opoku Mensah traders in the metropolis are being maltreated by city guards.
According to Frederick Addia, since Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi took office as KMA Boss, persons irrespective of their political affiliation have been employed to assist in decongesting the city therefore it would be a mistake for one to say only members of the opposition are taking helms of affairs at the Assembly.
"People irrespective of their political affiliation are all working for the Assembly. ...Mayor does not discriminate", the spokesperson stressed.
Meanwhime, KMA says it will invite popular New Patriotic Party (NPP) serial caller in the Ashanti Region, Kofi Dubai to subtantiate bribery allegations he made against staff of the Assembly.
Many including some traders in the Kumasi metropolis have accused KMA officials tasked to decongest the city of receiving monies as bribes from traders selling on pavements and unapproved places.
