At the Ohene Djan Sports stadium in Accra, team spirit proved decisive for Accra Hearts of Oak when they beat Berekum Arsenals 2-1 in the eleventh midweek Premier League Wednesday.

A seemingly disjointed Phobian side rode high on their amazing team spirit, when they relied on Prince Tagoe's brace that made a strong statement on the national scorers chart to overpower the stubborn "Gunners" who contested every ball throughout the game.

Tagoe now lies on top of the chart on seven goals with Kpando Heart of Lions', Sadat Bukari as he shot the league leaders ahead on the third minute mark when he rubbed Arsenals Fuseini Adams off the ball to place well the ball into the net to send the stadium 'ablaze'.

The visitors who were apparently unsettled by the goal lifted their game and raced for every ball in anticipation for the equalizer that never came their way until the game went on recess.

After the recess, Hearts conceded the midfield to the visitors allowing the agile Arsenal lads to shuffle well with great inter-positional play that saw them stringing their passes together with ease.

The visitors translated their brief dominance into a goal when Addei Owusu, the eventual winner of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of the match pulled his side at par on the 67th mark by connecting home a cross with a low header that left both goalkeeper Sannie Mohammed and his strong defence man, Kwabena Boafo crawling in open space.

At a time the game seemed to be heading for a draw, the "Prince of Goals", Tagoe restored Hearts lead on both the pitch and the league table by completing a fantastic move initiated by Bernard Don Bortey to enable the almost 'dead' home supporters to find their voices again with only six minutes left of play time.
