The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Kofi Osei-Ameyaw has stated that lottery is a win-win game and therefore gamblers who do not win must not be discouraged since their monies are used for national development.
He said most gamblers get extremely disappointed when they do not win thus discouraging them from gambling again.
In an exclusive interview with Kasapa News, the Director General said monies derived from lottery is paid into the Consolidated Fund and is just like paying tax since the monies are used for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
“We also use the monies to support the less privileged and the physically challenged”, he added.
Speaking emphatically about the importance of gambling, Mr. Osei Ameyaw said gambling is a life changing experience especially when a gambler wins since monies won are usually huge.
He debunked the usual perception that gambling is evil and must not be encouraged by Christians in particular.
He indicated that the work of the NLA is to enrich the lives of Ghanaians.
