MCE urges businesses to honour tax obligations for development

Mr Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson, the Ga West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has called on business establishments within the municipality to pay their taxes to enable the Assembly to undertake development projects.

Mr Wilkinson made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Amasaman after touring some factories and companies in the Ga West Municipality.

He was accompanied by Nana Kwame Agyeman, Director Physical Planning, Mr Eric Jim Foster Donkor, Municipal Works Engineer, Mrs Sandra Owusu Afriyie, Public Relation Officer, and Mr Kofi Mantey, Revenue Accountant all of the Assembly.

They visited Voltic Natural Mineral Water Company at Medie, GHS Housing Limited at Kutunse Satelite and the offices of Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).

Mr Wilkinson commended the Chief Executive Officer of the GHS Housing Limited, Mr Baffour Akoto Osei for the construction of 230 houses at Kutunse Satelite, which had helped in providing accommodation to the citizenry in the area.

The MCE said the Assembly was in a process of acquiring about 30,000 acres of land to undertake the One District, One Factory initiative by the government and appealed to the management of the Voltic Natural Mineral Water to consider their involvement in the project.

Mr Philip Redman, the General Manager of the Voltic Company expressed gratitude to the MCE for the visit and said they were ready to establish fruit juice factory to provide job opportunities for youth in the area, to help curb the rural-urban migration.
