The Management Development and Productivity Institute (MDPI) on Wednesday said beneficiaries of its oil and gas course, which enters the final stage on Monday, March 26, would soon graduate.
Mr Abdul Karim Adam, Coordinator of the training, in a release copied to Ghana News Agency in Accra said MDPI was satisfied with the training offered to the beneficiaries and the final phase would position them well on the job market.
He said phase III of the training would emphasise on practical exposures where participants would undertake field-based research projects to underpin the theory with practice.
Mr Adam said special emphasis was paid on entrepreneurship because of the huge unemployment burden on government and that the training would enable the trainees create their own jobs.
He explained that the oil and gas industry offered a wide range of opportunities for enterprise development and that it had the potential to create over 100,000 jobs in the next five years.
Mr Adam said MDPI would create a talent pool where industries could draw experienced, competent and qualified persons to contribute their quota towards improving the oil and gas sector
The phase I covered areas like the Overview, Health Safety and Environment, Natural Gas and Entrepreneurship while phase II trained them in their respective fields, which involved the design and development of specialised modules for their respective disciplines.
Mr Adam appealed to District Assemblies, Members of Parliament and other corporate bodies to settle their debts before the graduation since MDPI would be withholding certificates of those who would be indebted to MDPI.
He said MDPI had negotiated for pre-funding from Goodwill International Group, its partners for the training and unless beneficiaries made full payment, certificates would not be issued to them. **
