MTN Ghana has once again demonstrated its commitment to providing quality services to its customers with the launch the MTN ‘TurboNet’.

The TurboNet is a plug and play super high speed 4G internet router which comes with a high-powered external antenna and data SIM that enables it to deliver fast internet in MTN 4G locations.

Speaking at the official launch at the Accra Digital Centre on Thursday, May 30, the Chief Executive Officer MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh disclosed that the TurboNet sets out to meet consumers demand for an affordable and super high internet service.

“MTN upon the deployment of fixed broadband services in the market has experienced an unprecedented demand for super high-speed fixed internet. People want to access high speed data in their homes, offices, shops even if they currently do not have access to fixed broadband connectivity at their location. Ensuring that we meet these customers at the point of their need is paramount to us as an enabler”.

Citing a report by the World Bank, Selorm Adadevoh revealed that a rise in the patronage of broadband services contributes significantly to the country’s GDP per capital.

He submitted that $160 million dollars has been designated by the company to improve and upgrade their network services.

“A World Bank report has indicated that an increase in broadband penetration increases GDP per capita growth. In view of this, we are excited to introduce onto the market the MTN TURBONET which is a high speed 4G internet router providing a Fixed Wireless Broadband Service. We are confident that offering our customers a superior fixed wireless broadband experience will enhance business productivity as well as improve the residential market and in effect support national development”.

“As we indicated earlier in the year, we have earmarked an amount of $160 million dollars for network improvements which is currently ongoing. MTN continues to invest in initiatives and products that allow people to lead a connected life.

Deputy Minister of Communications, George Andah stated that MTN’s contribution to the development of Information and Communication Technology cannot be understated.

“I wish to commend MTN for the consistent investment within the ICT space in the interest of consumers and in line with global standards. I am informed that this modern advanced wireless router delivers very fast internet serving up to 300 Mbps and the 4G+ experience is not located by location”.

“In the 21st-century broadband has become a critical infrastructure prerequisite as ICT bares considerable impact in the creation of the information society. Broadband adoption is serving as the foundation for economic growth, job creation, global competitiveness and a better way of life”, he said.
