Business solution company, One Smart Star Ghana has collaborated with telecommunications giant MTN to launch the ‘Star Phone Service’, to improve clients’ interactions with organizations.
The ‘Star Phone Service’ is a unique dial code and application that allows customers to contact businesses with a single dial, devoid of the cumbersome phone numbers.
Users of the ‘Star Phone Service’ will be able to interact with business organizations with ease, without the stress of worrying about lengthy phone numbers and complicated email addresses.
The ‘Star Phone Service’ platform hosts all contact numbers of organizations, as well as their available communication channels such as electronic mail and social media handles, which can be accessed with the use of a unique four-digit code.
Speaking at the launch, Acting Chief Marketing Officer of MTN, Amerley Ampofo expressed her delight in the partnership with One Smart Star Ghana Limited, highlighting the relevance of the ‘Star Phone Service’ in this digital age.
She said, “One of the problems we identified in the market is the issue of dealing with several phone numbers or digits when we need to reach businesses or organizations. Toll free numbers are usually very long and not easy to memorize. As it is often the case, whilst on your phone with a caller and there is the need to request for a number, the next thing will be for you to look for a place to write or store the number. To solve this problem and make it much easier to reach organizations, Fast Food joints and many more, MTN in partnership with One Smart Star Ghana Limited is happy to introduce onto the market, the Star Phone Service.”
Delivering the keynote address, Deputy Communications Minister, Vincent Odotei Sowah lauded the initiative, asserting that the innovation would boost government’s vision of digitizing Ghana’s economy.
“The global economy today is being driven by technology and innovation which is evolving. It is therefore great news for Ghana that this application is being launched at this time when digitization of Ghana’s economy is key on the President’s agenda to position Ghana as a regional ICT hub,” Odotei Sowah disclosed.
He affirmed government’s unending support for tech companies like One Smart Star Ghana Limited and assured that collaborative efforts would be implemented to make the complete digitization of Ghana a reality.
