The Ghana Police Education System at Tesano in the Greater Accra Region will be a beneficiary of a 24-unit classroom block costing GHc1.6M from the MTN Ghana Foundation.

Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Mr. Selorm Adedevoh, mentioned at the sod cutting event that when it emerged that pupils sat on the floor to write and observe lessons, the foundation had to commit resources to change the narrative.

He stated aside the 24-unit classroom block, the Foundation will convert and enhance an existing library into an integrated library, which will have a hardcopy book area and an ICT center.

“MTN’s vision is to lead the delivery of a bold new digital world and this facility when completed will have an ICT center to bring the immense benefits of ICT to the students. It is worth mentioning that this project has become the 143rd investment of the MTN Ghana Foundation since its inception over a decade ago. This project we understand is the largest educational unit within Ghana Police and very pivotal in supporting the educational needs of many Ghanaians,” Mr. Selorm Adedevoh noted

The 24-unit classroom block is scheduled to be completed within six months with 2,493 pupils expected to directly benefit from the facility annually.

It also has Staff Common room, Head teacher’s office and modern toilet facility according to the projections.
