Accra, Aug. 2, GNA - Telecommunications company, MTN, is in partnership with Busy Internet, a Ghanaian internet service provider, to enable its subscribers access and browse the internet with ease and comfort at the various Busy Internet centres in Accra.
A statement issued in Accra on Monday and signed by Ms Mawuena Trebarh, Corporate Services Division, said the partnership would make it possible for MTN subscribers to pay for internet browsing at Busy Internet centres using airtime credit on their mobile handsets.
It said MTN customers who did not want to buy the Busy Internet vouchers or who had no ready cash to pay at any of the Busy Internet centres could easily enter their MTN mobile number, e-self Care password and select a preferred bucket ranging from GH¢2.5 to GH¢10.
"The cost for the browsing is deducted straight from their MTN airtime account to their Busy Internet account. Additionally, any outstanding credits for browsing can be used by the subscriber at any later point in time," it said.
Customers using their Laptops, Netbook, Notebooks or any Wi-Fi handsets can latch on to the Wi-Fi service at these centres and browse the internet.
The statement said even though Busy Internet did not have a centre at Kotoka International Airport (KIA), travellers could now use the MTN Wi-Fi service powered by Busy Internet at the airport.
It said the service is available in all four Busy Internet centres in Accra namely: Ring Road Central, Accra Mall, Kotoka International Airport and Tema Community Six.
The Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Ghana, Mr George Andah, said MTN was committed to providing its subscribers with innovations, adding 93that is why it has led and would continue to lead the country's telecommunications industry."
The e-Self Care service, MTN Phonebook back-up service, Mobile Money service, Pay4me service, the MTN Zone, the Me2U service, are but a few of the innovations that the company has introduced to the Ghanaian telecoms market.
Launched in 1994 MTN is a global telecommunications group, operating in 21 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
The MTN Group is listed on the JSE Securities Exchange in South Africa under the share code: "MTN".
It is the global sponsor of 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and has exclusive mobile content rights for Africa and the Middle East.
