MainOne has launched a new colocation service, in addition to its connectivity solutions, to address the needs of businesses in Ghana seeking reduced IT infrastructure costs and improved efficiency via a shared services platform.

The new colocation product offers sub and full rack services and enables businesses with less than a full rack deploy their IT infrastructure including servers and other equipment at MainOne’s Data Center facility with guaranteed power, cooling, security, connectivity and fire – prevention.

Shedding light on the new product at the opening of its corporate offices in Accra, MainOne Ghana’s General Manager, Mr. Angelo Govina, explained that MainOne continues to recognize the challenges businesses face with setting up IT infrastructure in-house, which is not only costly, but fraught with operational challenges thus affecting their ability to focus on their core competencies.

According to him, MainOne is able to eliminate these challenges though its shared Data Center model, which optimizes cost and improves performance by enabling enterprises, including start-up companies subscribe to colocation services as low as two sub-rack units (2U), with half and full rack options available to address larger requirements.

“Our new sub-rack colocation offering is perfect for businesses who run critical applications and business processes from small infrastructure footprints. Unlike standard half and full-rack colocation services, sub-rack colocation is delivered to 2U, 4U, 8U and 10U footprints.

Key benefits of these Data Center solutions include reduced CAPEX and OPEX costs, enhanced access to the Internet via a multiplicity of telecom operators in the collocation facility, ability to scale as required, carrier-grade security and technical expertise from our team.

This new offering assures data center customers of greater operational efficiency and profitability, as they no longer have to worry about the challenges and overhead costs of managing IT infrastructure.”

Unveiling the company’s new office at Capital Place Office Park, 11, Patrice Lumumba Road, Airport Residential Area, Accra, Mr. Govina observed that the company recognizes the need to operate from a location that is centrally located, while guaranteeing a modern and productive workspace for staff.

He equally shed light on other recent developments, including the launch of the Company’s Ghana website www.mainone.net/ghana and its ‘Switch to the internet that works” campaign, focused on supporting enterprises to take advantage of the superior quality of its connectivity services in Ghana.

He added that MainOne will continue to develop innovative products and services that enable small, medium and large organizations to effectively scale their businesses and enhance the overall socio-economic advancement of Ghana and the West Africa region as a whole.
