Management of GT begins nationwide measurement and revamp of network

Accra, Feb. 21, GNA - Management of Ghana Telecom says it has begun a nationwide measurement and revamp of its network to improve quality and ensure customers get the best when they make or receive calls.

Speaking at an awards night for retired officers and long service workers, Mr David Venn, Chief Executive Officer of GT, said the company would not relent in its efforts to be at the top of the competition in the telecommunication industry. He said when the nation-wide exercise to improve the quality was completed; it would enhance sound and scale the difficulties of call drop and inability to hear, making GT the best network in the country.

"Already we have attained the feat as the best in Accra," and added that GT would continue to work together with stakeholders in the industry to ensure quality delivery of service to customers. Mr Venn said GT's focus was to be a total telecommunication service provider, ensuring that customers get the best from its fixed line, mobile and broadband services. He urged the retired officers to spread the word about the great things that were happening and were about to happen in the company. "Also I want to remind you to continue using our products and be great ambassadors of Ghana Telecom." He lauded the selfless and dedicated service rendered by the retirees over the years to the company and assured them of management's open door policy. "Rewarding you tonight on behalf of the company, for me is a privilege and a great opportunity to meet people whose contributions to the company have moulded Ghana Telecom into an industry giant," Mr Venn said.

Mr Alex Mensah, former Head of Audit, on behalf of the retirees, pledged their continuous support to management for the growth of the company. In all 310 workers received awards. They were made up of 212 workers who had served the company from 10 to 30 years and 98 retired officers. They were given certificates, refrigerators and television sets.
