Mantrac Opens Up To Public

Mantrac Ghana Limited, the authorized dealers of Caterpillar products in the country, on Wednesday, held its 2012 Open Day to welcome all stakeholders.

The Territory Managing Director, Mantrac Ghana Limited, Bill Haxworth, in an open address, hinted that this year’s Open Day was aimed at showcasing what Mantrac was doing in 2012 after 75 years of existence in Ghana.

“The company, which is a subsidiary of the Mantrac Group, since its 75 years in survival, has been providing high machines backed with unmatched after sales support across the length and breadth of the nation”, he said.

Mr. Haxworth reiterated that by celebrating of the Open Day, under the theme ‘Dependability and Uptime, All Day, Every Day, Mantrac Ghana opened its doors to Ghanaians by showing them machines that customers could rely on ‘All Day, Everyday’.

Mr. Haxworth noted that most Ghanaians were uninformed of the kinds of products that Mantrac sells.

“It still surprises me that many people do not know that we sell and support a range of Power Systems products. We offer Caterpillar generating sets for domestic and office use up to 300 Kva.

He emphasized that 2012 is the launch year of the Mantrac rental fleet.

“We are starting off this year with five machines, available to rent. If one has a need for a short term fleet expansion or he or she is uncertain of the long term plan on a project, it is worth considering a Mantrac rental machine as a solution.

According to Mr. Haxworth, the public would have the option of choosing from a wide range of durable caterpillar machines for varied applications.

He said the theme “All Day, Every Day” applies to the company’s equipment reliability and durability and product support.

Felix Ofosu-Kontoh, Product Support Sales Manager (Non-Mining), in an interview with the media after the Open Day, explained that the rental fleet includes the latest models from Caterpillar in the best possible conditions through a rigorous maintenance programmes.

Explaining further, he said local contractors need to get a means to compete with the foreign contractors in terms of Caterpillar equipment and with the introduction of the CAT rental store; all contractors could rely on Mantrac Ghana to get the right equipment for their contracts or get their jobs done easily.

Mr. Ofosu-Kontoh, delivering his address, explained that the vision of Mantrac is to become the benchmark for Caterpillar dealers on a global scale.

“To enable us partner and support customers effectively, Mantrac Ghana Limited is strategically present in Greater Accra, Ashanti and Western Regions.

The Minister of Roads and Highways, Joe Gidisu, in a speech read on his behalf by his deputy, Dr. Nii Quaye-Kuma, stressed government’s commitment to support the company in all ways possible to achieve its set goals.

The company, as part of the celebration, presented two 816 F Landfill Compactor Caterpillars and two 969 D Truck Loaders which is being funded by the World Bank for two District Assemblies, the Tema Metropolitan Assembly and Sekondi-Takoradi.

The Deputy Minister of Local Government, Stephen M.E.K. Ackah, received the trucks on behalf of government and commended the company for the kind gesture.
