Mantrac eases power challenges facing businesses

Mantrac Ghana Limited, the sole authorized dealer of Caterpillar (CAT) products in the country has hosted over 100 businesses to a power solution seminar aimed at mitigating power crisis hampering their operations.

The one-day seminar exposed clients and new customers, drawn from various areas of businesses, including the banking and mining sectors, to the new CAT models of power generators and hybrid solution, using the latest technologies.

In a speech read on his behalf, Mr Emad Adeeb, Managing Director of Mantrac Ghana, said over the decades, the company had supplied and supported major power delivery projects in the country with its reliable CAT-branded diesel power generating.

Caterpillar has been providing power to customers in various industries, hotels, mining, banking, telecommunications and schools, in a move to mitigate the impact of the erratic power supply affecting their smooth operations.

Mr Adeeb said the company would make the necessary financial arrangement to help customers obtain power machines of their choice, whiles the product team would go round to share with them experiences of the best equipment management they need.

“Today, you will be updated on new cat models of power generators and hybrid solutions, using latest solar and energy storage technologies; we deem it necessary to provide specially financing arrangement for our customers to enlighten you about Cat finance capabilities,” he said.

Mantrac has succeeded in closing a major power deal with Perseus Mining by providing a 5.8 megawatts diesel power generator, to boost its on-site power generating capacity at its Edikan Gold Mine.

“This seminar is timely and relevant, especially when the nation and industry are feeling the pinch of the energy crises, coupled with economic challenges,” Mr Adeeb noted.

Mantrac Ghana has a work force of over 800, with 95 per cent being Ghanaians, according to the Head of marketing and strategic planning, Mr Daniel Pabby.

Mantrac has a new component rebuild Centre in Takoradi costing $35 million, a four star engine rebuild Centre located in Accra and controls inventory of over $30 million worth of parts.
