Mercantile Limited to recall product from the market

Accra, Nov 2, GNA - The Food and Drugs Board (FDB) on Tuesday directed the Far East Mercantile Limited, importers of Menthos Chewy Dragees (Rolls) to recall the product from the market for not conforming to the general labelling requirements - L.I. 1541.

A statement in Accra signed by Mr Leonard Klogo from the Board's Communications Department said the product was not labelled in English and, therefore, there was no guaranteed that they had not expired. The statement said the FDB would take the appropriate regulatory action against the importer and asked the public not to patronise the product for safety reasons.

"Any member of the general public who has purchased any of this product should return it to the importer, Far East Mercantile Limited," the statement said.
