Merchant Bank donates to College of Health Sciences

Accra, Nov. 10, GNA - Merchant Bank on Wednesday donated 15 million cedis to support the Post-graduate Endowment Fund of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana.

Mr Eric Adodoaji, Manger, Corporate Affairs, said the Bank had been associated with the fund for a long time.

This is because the fund is the medium, which has sustained the training of medical doctors in this country.

Professor Simon Naaeder, Acting Provost at the College, said the fund was established to support the training of postgraduate students locally.

He said it was important that corporate bodies supported the fund, as the College provided the largest number of medical professionals. "Most doctors leave the country to Europe or America for training and to retain doctors in this country there is the need for a fund such as the postgraduate endowment fund."
