Mexico is poised to deepen its economic ties with Ghana Mexican Ambassador to the West African country Maria De Los Angeles Aguirre has disclosed.
According to her, Mexico sees Ghana as the best place to start its quest to explore the African market.
To show its seriousness with its interest in seeing Ghana as a springboard into doing business with ECOWAS, there are Mexican companies who are ready to establish their manufacturing base in Ghana.
Maria De Los Angeles Aguirre made these known in an interview with Class Business on the sidelines of the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference in Accra.
“Ghana has all the tools to turn into a strategic partner of Mexico and in Africa. In my presentation, we don’t have too much trade between Mexico and Africa and the government of Mexico has been insisting lately that we have to widen our trade with non-traditional partners and then when we have the duty as ambassadors to see where there are those chances, I see in Ghana a very important country where we can have strong economic relations, trade investments and also stronger political relations,” she stated.
“So I believe, like the things I have already said, because of the strong economic stability, the social stability, the political stability, Mexico is poised to be a very strategic partner because you are a very friendly country and Mexicans are not used to doing business with Africans. So getting into contact with those countries that are more like us in those kinds of sectors will allow us to have easily more business and make them feel confident in coming to Africa.”
